Justin Vandergrift
Mr. Vandergrift is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Chadwick Investment
Group Inc and is responsible for all day to day operations of the firm. Mr. Vandergrift’s
interest in the futures markets began while in high school. During college he read and
studied as many books as possible on futures and options trading trying to find the 'edge'
in his personal trading. After graduating from the University of North Carolina at
Charlotte in 1996, he started with John Hill's Futures Truth Company and Commodity
Research Institute. Futures Truth was a company who would independently review and
evaluate trading systems. While with Futures Truth he studied as many commodity trading
systems as he could. He continued his systems research while with Futures Truth.
In 1997 Mr. Vandergrift started the futures brokerage firm as a sole proprietor. In 2003
Chadwick Investment Group Inc registered as an Introducing Broker and in 2006 the firm
registered as a Commodity Trading Advisor (CTA).
Mr. Vandergrift’s own system research lead him to trend following. The programs that
we offer now are the results of Mr. Vandergrift’s research on Trend Following going
back more than 15 years. Mr. Vandergrift is the principal of Chadwick.
Robert Spears Jr.
Robert Spears Jr. is the branch manager of the Charleston WV office of Chadwick
Investment Group and has been with Chadwick since May of 2003. His primary focus is
managed futures. Prior to joining Chadwick, Mr. Spears served in investment
marketing, sales and training for a branch of New England Securities from 1991 to 2003.
From 1986 until 1991 Mr. Spears worked as an Account Executive with Dean Witter
Reynolds Inc. Mr. Spears served as an Account Executive with E. F. Hutton and
Company Inc. from 1984 to 1986. He began his career in finance as a Registered
Representative with Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner and Smith Inc where he worked from
1981 to 1984. Mr. Spears graduated from West Virginia University in 1980 with a
Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.
Mr. Spears has lived in Charleston West Virginia for 30 years and is a native of the state.
He is an avid supporter of the West Virginia Mountaineers and has served on the board of
his local Trout Unlimited Chapter. His interest in commodities and futures began in 1997
when be began trading the markets.
